Pelvic exercises for men: Understand Why
Men like women have pelvic floor muscles, which can weaken with age or other health factors such as surgical removal of the prostate (radical prostatectomy) and conditions such as diabetes and an overactive bladder.
According to Continence Foundation of Australia, male pelvic floor muscles support the bladder and bowel and have a direct affect on sexual function.
That’s why Kegel exercise should be an important part of men’s health to strengthen their pelvic floor muscles.
But before you start practicing Kegel exercises for your pelvic muscles, take a look at some techniques.
How to do male pelvic floor exercises
- Find the right muscles. To identify your pelvic floor muscles, try to tighten your bottom muscles that keep you from passing gas. Those are pelvic floor muscles. Once you understand where pelvic floor muscles are located, it will be easier to start your Kegel exercises as you will know which muscles to focus on. You can do the exercises in any position, but try to do them lying down at first.
- Perfect your technique. Tighten your pelvic floor muscles, hold the contraction for three seconds, and then relax for three seconds. Make a few sets. When your muscles get stronger, you can start adding Kegel balls starting from the smallest Kegel weight.
- Maintain your focus. For best results, focus on tightening only your pelvic floor muscles. Do not engage abdomen muscles, thighs or buttocks. Breath deeply and peacefully.
- Continue for 10-15 mins. Try to do your Kegel ball exercises every day or every other day. 10-15 mins is enough for one session.
Don’t worry if you happen to not have time for the exercise. It’s life and we all get busy. But the beauty of doing Kegel ball exercises is that you can just put them in and go about your day! Just stick to your regular routine - brush your teeth, walk your dog, cook, talk on the phone, work, watch TV, etc. It’s that easy.
When can you see the result
If you do your pelvic exercises with La Sucree Kegel Balls regularly, you can expect results within a week. However, some people may find the difference even after the first use. For continued and lasting results, make Kegel exercises a part of your daily routine.
Good luck and try to also have some fun with them in! :)
